Fall is approaching, kids are going back to school and sports, we are inside more and therefore more exposed to germs. This is true every year around this time but especially so during the pandemic. This is also a time of harvest and bounty from our gardens and farms, making it the ideal time to make some delicious smoothies. Smoothies are fast, easy, versatile and even the kids love them as a cool treat. Cool off in the afternoon or gear up for the day with this easy to make and adapt immune boosting smoothie.

Immune Boosting Smoothie Recipe 1 cup frozen berries 1 handful greens (spinach, lamb’s quarters, cleavers, purslane, dandelion,sheep sorrel, watercress, etc) 1 chopped nectarine or peach 1 chopped apple or pear 1/4 cup elderberry syrup 1/2 cup elderberry and/or hawthorn tea cooled 1 tablespoon chia seeds Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Feel free to add, subtract or change ingredients based on preference, allergies, and availability. These ingredients will all aid in supporting your immune system, helping you fight any germs you are encountering, and they are delicious!
