Pumpkin Spice has become ubiquitous with fall, especially in the US. Starting in September you can find Pumpkin Spice flavored or scented cakes, donuts, cookies, lattes, teas, perfumes, soaps, lotions, candles and more. Pumpkin Spice is almost its own season. People tend to either love it or love to hate it. I am a big fan of Pumpkin Spice and all of its magickal and delicious healing. After learning the healing and magickal components found within Pumpkin Spice, you too will feel confident indulging your inner basic bitch with all the seasonal treats.

Ingredients: What makes Pumpkin Spice, it has little to do with Pumpkin. Pumpkin Spice is usually a one to one combination of Cinnamon Nutmeg Ginger Cloves Allspice (powdered form of dried Pimenta diocia berries)

Culinary Uses: Most of us are familiar with the culinary uses of these delicious spices. Many of the sweet treats we enjoy in the fall have pumpkin spice flavoring. Baking is where these herbs and spices shine. Pies, pastries, cakes, breads and more.


Household Uses: Cinnamon is used to stimulate hair growth, as an insect repellent, to treat Athlete’s Foot, and as a deodorizer.

Nutmeg is used to treat acne, as an additive in bath salts, deodorizing, and to treat bad breath. One of the more unique uses of nutmeg is in the making of beads.

Ginger is used as a skin exfoliant that is great at treating acne and reducing cellulite, it promotes hair growth and moisturizes hair and is used to ease gum pain.

Cloves are a deodorizer, a great bathroom cleaner, and repels both mosquitoes and ants.

Allspice is a wonderful deodorizer, a great additive to bath salts, a marinade and a mulling spice.

Medicinal Uses: Cinnamon has long been used medicinally to ease digestion, clear congestion, stop bleeding, soothe sore muscles, stimulate the appetite, and lower blood sugar.

Nutmeg has been found to relieve pain, soothe digestion, detox the body, support the immune system, improve circulation, and improve cognitive function.

Ginger is a common remedy for digestion distress. Ginger also relaxes muscles, expels phlegm, soothes coughs, relieves lower back pain and reduces fevers.

Cloves improve digestion, are antiseptic, aide sleep, raise low blood pressure, ease toothaches and depression and soothe abdominal cramps.

All Spice soothes digestion and eases gas pains, soothes heavy menstruation, reduces fevers, and is recommended to aide with diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure.


Magickal Uses: Cinnamon is connected to the Sun and the fire element. Cinnamon is a key component used in success, healing, protection and love magick.

Nutmeg is connected to Jupiter and the fire element. Nutmeg is used in luck, health, prosperity, and faithfulness magick.

Ginger is associated with Mars and the fire element. Ginger is used in love, prosperity, and strengthening magick.

Cloves are connected to Jupiter and the fire element. Cloves are a key component is protection, love and prosperity magick.

All Spice is associated with Mars and the fire element. All Spice is used in prosperity, healing, and luck magick.
